DRIP versus PIVOT

When Green Planet Drip first opened, a man by the name of Ronnie Love came and introduced himself to David Wiens. He told Mr. Wiens that he wanted to have  drip irrigation installed on one of his fields. The field had a total of 140 acres, which currently had a pivot on it. That pivot could only irrigate 45-50 acres max during a planting season. The main reason for this was due to the limited amount of water that Mr. Love had on his field. David informed Ronnie that he could use the same amount of water and plant and irrigate the entire 140 acres. That began Green Planet Drip's 1st Big Break.

After the drip system was installed,  Mr. Love planted peanuts on the entire 140 acres. When harvest season came around Mr. Love produced a total of 2.5 tons of peanuts per acre on his newly installed drip irrigation property. The previous year crops had only produced 1-1.5 tons per acre; and again, Mr. Love was only able to harvest 45-50 acres max with pivot irrigation. Now what about the amount of water that he used? Well, only 2 GPM per acre was used on the drip system compared to the 5 GPM per acre that was required for the pivot in the previous years. Ronnie was able to sell the peanuts from the entire 140 acres, he then saw the success of sub surface drip irrigation.

To the left is an overall view of Mr. Love's 140 acre property with drip irrigation. Below are the examples of the Drip that year compared to the pivots in the previous years.

Take a look at the outcome below. Please understand that the images of the drip results were strictly irrigated with sub surface drip irrigation. No above surface irrigation took place.
